Why
not Compete for Charity!
|
Can
you raise money for one of our official charities? We
have reserved places for charities so you will receive
a guaranteed entry, a downloadable step by step training
plan, and a sponsorship pack which will be sent out shortly
after we receive your entry.
Our events
helped raise thousands of pounds for charity in 2008 &
2009 so why not compete for one of our national charities
and together we can help raise an even greater amount
for 2010. |

Cancer
Research UK is the world’s leading charity dedicated
to beating cancer through research. |
|
Our groundbreaking work into the
prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer has saved
millions of lives. Survival rates have doubled in the
last thirty years and we have been at the heart of that
progress. But one in three of us will still get cancer
at some point and our vital work, funded entirely by the
public, will help ensure that millions more people will
survive.

The Aspinall Foundation
in conjunction with Howletts and Port Lympne Wild Animal
Parks in Kent is devoted to saving rare and endangered
animals and returning them to protected areas in the wild.
|
These
activities include the management of two gorilla rescue
and rehabilitation projects in Congo and Gabon, Central
Africa, where we have successfully reintroduced over fifty
western lowland gorillas. Forty-three of these are wild-born
gorillas, orphans of the bush meat trade.
As a charity we rely on
the support of the general public to help fund our work.
Working together with The Aspinall Foundation your support
will make a real difference to the future of the western
lowland gorilla and other endangered animals whose future
is in all our hands. |

Action Medical
Research is a leading independent medical research charity.
For nearly 60 years we have been instrumental in the development
of some of the most significant breakthroughs in recent
medical history including the UK polio vaccine, ultrasound
scanning in pregnancy, and discovering the importance of
folic acid during pregnancy.
Our research has helped and will continue to benefit thousands
of children affected by disease and disability |
| .
Raising as much as you can for us will help us find ways
to prevent life-threatening infections such as meningitis
and pneumonia, develop new treatments to improve the quality
of life for disabled children and tackle rare and devastating
conditions for which there are currently no cures.
You will also be supporting our special
appeal, Touching Tiny Lives, funding vital research to
reduce premature birth and improve care for sick babies.
Every week, more than 25 babies die in the UK as a result
of complications arising from premature birth. We want
to change this and prevent so many families from suffering.
But, as an independent charity we can only make this happen
with your help.
Of course many health
problems can affect the old as well as the young, and
some conditions have their origins in childhood. So much
of our work has the potential to improve health for all.
