The Event
The Warwickshire Triathlon is a fun but challenging event set around the historic town of Stratford-upon-Avon. The event is aimed at all abilities and fitness levels, from complete novice to club and pro triathlete, as well as charity and fun competitors. All entrants receive a 2013 finishers medal and there are prizes for top 3 male and female in both the Fun & Sprint competitions as well as age group prizes in the Sprint Triathlon and general spot prizes.
Distances
Fun: 200 metre Swim - 23 km Cycle - 2.5 km Run
Super Sprint: 200 metre Swim - 23 km Cycle - 2.5 km Run
Sprint: 400 metre Swim - 23 km Cycle - 5 km Run
Relay: 400 metre Swim - 23 km Cycle - 5 km Run (One competitor for each leg!)
Getting there & staying over
The venue is just 5 miles off the M40 at junction 15, follow the signs for Stratford-upon-Avon and look for the Leisure and Visitor Centre as you approach the town (it is on the left hand side). Parking is available in the pay and display at the centre at very reasonable charges, (also ideal for shopping and sight seeing!). There are ample toilets, showers and baby changing facilities at the centre. There is a cafe, and restaurant serving a selection of hot and cold meals and beverages. For the Triathlon all you will need is
Swimming goggles (not compulsory but recommended), swimming costume or trunks, bicycle (must be road worthy), cycle helmet & running shoes or trainers.
